Galvanized angle steel is a kind of angle steel with anti-corrosion properties. It protects the angle steel from oxidative corrosion by plating a layer of zinc on the surface of the angle steel. Galvanized angle steel is widely used in construction projects, railways, highways, bridges and other fields. It has the advantages of corrosion resistance, wear resistance and high strength.

The process of galvanizing angle steel is to immerse the angle steel in molten zinc liquid, so that the zinc liquid reacts chemically with the surface of the steel to form a zinc-iron alloy layer that is firmly combined with the steel. The zinc-iron alloy layer can block oxygen and moisture, thereby preventing the surface of the angle steel from being oxidized and corroded.

The anti-corrosion performance of galvanized angle steel mainly depends on the thickness of the zinc-iron alloy layer and the uniformity of the zinc coating. Typically, the thickness of the zinc-iron alloy layer is between 50-130 microns, and the weight of the zinc coating is between 60-275g/m². The thicker and more uniform the zinc coating is, the better the anti-corrosion performance of the angle steel.

In addition to its anti-corrosion properties, galvanized angle steel also has good wear resistance. The zinc coating has high hardness and can effectively resist friction and wear from external objects, thereby extending the service life of the angle steel.

In addition, the strength of galvanized angle steel is also higher. Zinc coating can increase the stiffness and strength of angle steel, allowing it to bear greater pressure and weight. Therefore, galvanized angle steel is widely used in building structures, such as making frames, supports and connectors.

However, galvanized angle steel also has some disadvantages. First, zinc coatings are susceptible to mechanical damage, such as scratches, collisions, etc., thus affecting their anti-corrosion properties. Secondly, galvanized angle steel is prone to zinc burning loss in high temperature environments, causing the zinc coating to fall off.

Generally speaking, galvanized angle steel is a kind of angle steel with anti-corrosion properties and has the advantages of anti-corrosion, wear resistance, and high strength. It is widely used in construction engineering and other fields to provide reliable support and connection for various structures.
